Bank Ambush

What is can’t is a campaign in Australia rumoured to be by one of the big four banks in the country. A relative minnow Heritage Bank has ambushed the teaser campaign by buying Google ad words associated with the campaign. It’s a neat adjack and will ride the wave of their bigger competitor’s ad speed for a relatively small amount.

According to the Oz ad blog -Mumbrella, if you “Type in the words ‘Can’t’ and ‘What is can’t’ on Google, and the Queensland-based bank ranks second in the list of sponsored searches, just behind the teaser campaign domain whatiscan’t.com. The link to the Heritage Bank website explains why the bank ‘Can do things the big banks can’t’.”

Loverly Jubilees

No we haven’t gone boob crazy, that’s the domain of the UK’s The Sun newspaper and they’ve just reported on this t-shirt that’s been causing a stir in Blighty. Online retailer Shot Dead in the Head have released this Sex Pistols inspired T playing off  Jubblies (a slang name for breasts). We reckon the design could have been shown a bit more love but it’s another Diamond Jubilee product getting the UK Press’ attention.

Thanks to Jono for the spot

Boobstagram

It goes without saying that a photograph of a pair of boobs is among the most valuable currency on the Internet. Combine that with the hipster powerhouse that is Instagram and what do you have?

Boobstagram.

To raise awareness of Breast Cancer month, Boobstagram was created to serve an aesthetically pleasing resource for the cause. But what begun as a simple exercise in planned spontaneity has now become essentially an Urgent Genius topical platform. More and more women have been using their boob pictures to champion other topical causes such as gay rights, forthcoming elections and the testicular charity sponsored Movember.

Hats off to the two breast loving Frenchman who saw the potential of sourcing existing Instagram images and using them as a charitable call to action.

True Urgent Genius. Have you seen any other interesting examples of either one-offs or platforms to support various charitable month-long programs?
