Twitter Voting. Project Runway series 9.

When the new season (season 9) of Project Runway launched last night in the U.S. on Lifetime, fans were encouraged to cast their votes via Twitter for their favorite designers. Using unique hashtags for each contestant, Project Runway will track the votes from viewers throughout the season to designate “Fan Favorites.” It’s the first time an A+E Networks show has tapped Twitter for audience voting.

Dexter Facebook social game – players watch on Sun to gain advantage on Mon

“As fans gear up for Season 6, Popular TV show Dexter will be launching a free-to-play social game that will follow the Season 6 story arc. Entitled Dexter Slice of Life, the Faceboook game will let players do everything from stalking their victims to exploring new locales. More after the jump.

Launching Sunday, October 2nd, the idea of the game is to let players watch Season 6 episodes on Sunday and play on Monday as that will give them a big advantage against other players who play without watching. Players will get to play as Dexter and blend into society as they shadow their foes in what they call ‘realtime stealth gameplay’. Players will also get a wide variety of missions and tasks to do but with deeper mechanics than in typical mass appeal social games.

Ecko Code, developers of Dexter Slice of Life, named the game after Dexter’s boat which he uses to get rid of bodies. Could the experience be compelling enough for players to play? Whether its a social game or a mobile game, the future of entertainment lies in having a cross-media experience. We’ll be sure to track this game and see how it does once it is launched on October 2nd. Stay tuned.”
